In August 2024 KyGeb team of Kyrgyz-German Institute of KNAU, Mr K. Umetov, Director of the Institute and Mr A. Imanaliev, Project Manager, travelled to Jalal-Abad region to familiarise themselves with the progress of the project on site. They met with our project partners, the head of the Public Fund ‘Regional Rural Advisory Service of Jalal-Abad’ Mr. Syrgabek Zhaibolotov and discussed plans and implementation of the project programme. Then the team travelled to Kara-Alma area, where Siversa apple trees and other types of wild fruit plants grow in large numbers. As a result of the trip it was found that wild growing fruit plants such as barberry, rosehip, alcha, walnut and plum trees are very abundant and very good yield this year.

In addition, it was found that in the vicinity of Jalal-Abad there are warehouses with modern technology for storing fruits and vegetables. The owner of these warehouses agreed to co-operate with our project, if necessary.
